Cold forging

Cold forging is a general term for various processes in which wire or bar material is formed into ready-to-install components. The benefits of this process: components are resistant to high temperatures and acids, are recyclable, their weight continues to decrease, and energy and material efficiency are high.

The unique production of net-shape, cold-forged parts that are lighter and save costs is thyssenkrupp’s contribution to designing cars with greater durability, safety, cost-effectiveness and comfort. Nearly every automobile manufacturer in the world relies on the results of our production.

Our cold frging process offers:

  • Highly sophisticated, net-shape component geometries
  • Parts supplied as blanks, machined and ready-to-install
  • Our own basic developments and toolmaking
  • Tool simulation with FE analyses
  • Rapid prototyping
