In 25 years, thyssenkrupp Camshafts has grown to become the world’s number one camshaft supplier.
From its beginnings with a single factory in Lichtenstein, the business unit today produces at 10 locations in almost every continent on Earth.
The first series production of assembled camshafts took place in 1994, for the customer Ford. New plants were subsequently founded in Danville (USA), Ilsenburg (Germany), Dalian (China), Chemnitz (Germany), Poços de Caldas (Brazil), San Miguel de Allende (Mexico), and Jászfényszaru (Hungary). The central administration is today located in Ilsenburg, Germany. Since 2016, thyssenkrupp has also been producing assembled rotor shafts for electric motors.
